Richard has had an interest in art since
primary school, and probably inherited
this from his father's artistic talents.
He started painting watercolours avidly
in his early twenties and then exhibited
and sold his watercolours at a local
gallery. He then studied A level Art
between 1999-2001 and began
working in oils and steadily built up a
large collection of oil paintings along
with his original watercolours.
Before becoming a full time artist in
2006 he was a full time tutor teaching
at West Nottinghamshire College for
eleven years in the area of IT. For five
years over this period he was given
the chance to teach oil and
watercolour painting to mature
learners in the community. This gave
him the grounding he needed to begin
teaching his weekly classes,
workshops and painting holidays. In
2010 he completed a BA with honours
degree in Art History. He currently
demonstrates to art clubs around the
country.
