Join Paul Talbot-Greaves on this
opportunity to paint in the Wye Valley.
We will sketch on location along the
River Wye at places such as Symonds
Yat and near Tintern Abbey.
We call capture the light in The Wye
Valley with the extremes of light and
dark across the valley and paint the
light and reflections on the river. Other
places where light and darks occur
with reflections on water that we may
go to are Cannop Ponds in the Forest
of Dean near to the hotel.
With Paul you will sketch and take
photographs on site, where we can
concentrate on composition finding and
absorb subjects, before returning to
the studio to work on a finished
painting. Although the studio time is
more controlled and comfortable, Paul
still likes to use a loose, rapid approach
to painting, usually completing a piece
in around two hours.
Paul will lead by demonstration,
gathering participants around a table
to watch close hand, take notes and
discuss his techniques and approaches.
He helps painters with their own work,
giving individual tuition,
demonstrations, offering helpful and
technical advice.
