The Speech House Hotel is a former 17th-
century hunting lodge set in the heart of the
idyllic Royal Forest of Dean which is ideal for
walkers. Nestled in the centre of a tranquil

The hotel is an unmissable historic building
that has been a part of the Forest of Dean's
scenery since 1669. Set in the centre of the
forest, this historic former hunting lodge is
surrounded by one of the only surviving
ancient woodlands in England.
There are a number of ground floor rooms
available and the studio spaces are also on
the ground floor.
The hotel is outside Coleford off the B4226
to Cinderford. If travelling south take the
M50 to Ross-on-Wye and follow signs to
Monmouth and Coleford then Cinderford
along the B4226. If travelling north exit the
M4 at J15 and the M48 at J21, go through
Chepstow on the A48 and follow the signs
for Lydney, then turn left onto the B4231
through Parkend and then turn right to
Cinderford onto the B4226.
If coming by train the nearest station is
Lydney and it is a 15 minute taxi journey
from there. Also, you can get a train to
Chepstow (30 mins) or Gloucester (35
mins). Please note that at Lydney, it is
essential to pre-book a taxi and is also a
good idea if coming from Chepstow as well.
