The hotel is set on a clifftop overlooking the
Burgau fishing village and beach which are
only a 5-minute walk away.
The hotel has been under new
management since April 2019 and the team
are experienced in dealing with groups like
ours and are fantastic hosts.
Many rooms have balconies with amazing
sea views and views across the village. All
en-suite rooms are neatly decorated with
wooden furniture, have air conditioning, a
small fridge and tea/coffee making
facilities. Free WiFi is available throughout
the hotel and the hotel has an outdoor
swimming pool.
The hotel is well positioned for painting
around Burgau including a brilliant vantage
point from the hotel's rooftop terrace
where we can paint from that looks out
over Burgau and has far reaching views
across the sourrounding countryside as
well as across the beach and west along
the coastline.
The hotel is not far from Luz and Lagos as
well as other more traditional Portuguese
villages including a couple up the west
coast.
If travelling by car, you head west on the
A22 until Junction 1 and then take the N125
and take the turning for Burgau. On coming
into Burgau the hotel is clearly signposted
but is situated on the eastern side of the
beach which is accessed on the roads
around the back of the village, so there is
no need to go down into the
slipway/harbour area.
If travelling by public transport, we can
either pick you up from Faro airport or train
station.
Alternatively, you can catch a train or bus
to Lagos which is 15 minutes from the
hotel.
The nearest airport is Faro Airport, which is
about an hour from the hotel. Airport
transfer is available at set times throughout
the day on the arrival date. Flights are
available from most UK airports and some
other European countries.
Flights are available throughout the world
to Lisbon, which is 3 hours from the hotel.
Onward transport from Lisbon is either
train to Faro or Coach to Lagos, which is
the best as this is then 15 minutes to
Burgau. According to the number of people
arriving at Lisbon, we maybe able to
organise a transfer for an additional
charge.
