Capture the beauty of flowers, plants,
trees and shrubs in the beautiful
Somerset gardens of Bishop's Palace
and Kilver Court Gardens including the
well pools, moat, streams and lakes, all
with beautiful reflections with buildings
playing a supporting role.
We will spend some time out on
location in the gardens gathering
information through observation,
sketches and photographs which will
then be developed into full blown
paintings in the studio.
Sian will tutor through a mixture of
demonstrations, group exercises, and
individual guidance according to your
prior experience. The aim of the
demonstrations will be to show how
the unique and elusive properties of
watercolour transparency and
freshness can be achieved. The basic
technical information will also be
covered, with lots of tips and
techniques, and plenty of opportunities
to apply them to your choice of
subject.
She approaches each person's needs
at a highly individual level and is
perfectly happy working with
beginners as well as more experienced
painters who feel in need of new
inspiration to make more progress.
Sian's interest in the exciting
properties of watercolour lends itself
to an approach that encourages
students to discover when to control
the medium and when to allow its
freedom.
